Add less pepper next time.

Very tough. I love black pepper, but yes you can add too much, that's for sure. I would try adding lemon. About 1/2 lemon at a time and check it. The lemon has a tendency to offset the heavy spicy pepper taste (hence the popularity of lemon-pepper) but go easy, too much lemon is just ANOTHER problem...........

(I know that potatoes will help to "suck out" too much salt, but I have NEVER heard that used with black pepper.......)

Seriously, I don't think there can ever be too much black pepper. The strength of the pepper will dull the next day.

drain half of the gravy part add some potatoes and 2 spoon full of sugar add water and some beef powder and a flour and butter and a tad of water paste and mix in and bring to boil n simmer to thickness.It really tastes good with a little sugar.It takes from the spice and potatoes soak up salt n pepper n spice.Good luck n hope i could help.

Can you scape any of the pepper off? If not take it to the sink and rinse it off quickly so the water is only touching the pepper part of the meat. Quickly return it to the pan with the juices still in the pan and coat both sides with the natural meat juice. You should be fine. If not serve it and tell them it is pepper steak.

taste it as your doing it and adjust to taste with other spices like garlic and your other favourite spices.
