Conversion effort by any group is expression of its religious arrogance and aggression. Hindus tolerate other religions and respect all other faiths as their own, but can not tolerate arrogance, and aggression on them.

So I take it then that if I as a Christian married a Moslem girl the Moslems wouldn't be opposed to her conversion?
The Hindus are not alone in being opposed to conversion but looking on the brighter side I doubt they would kill you for it.

It's the "if it isn't broke, don't fix it" theory. And the "do you mean organized as in organized crime?" theory. And the "convert this" theory.
People who leave their native religion are called "apostates". That should counter any nasty name that anyone else might want to call them for not leaving thier native religion.

the religion of hinduism says that whatever god you believe is the same as the other ones, and they aren't against conversion, they just don't believe in it

people can convert out or in, but it's just a name, please don't assume things

I think it's because they believe that all paths lead to god, and it's better for you if you simply follow the path that you were born into.

Yes - it does seem strange. They say that all religions are correct - but you better not leave this one because the others are... wrong...
