Don't let your dog eat it, but it's not very toxic. It's an urban legend in the U.S. that it's poisonous. It's only dangerous if you're allergic to latex. Unlike other posts I include references.

It is crappy food, but it is not poisonous or toxic. I don't like most of the weight control foods, even the good brands. If your dog needs to lose weight, feed a good food, just a bit less. Good foods will not have corn or wheat, by-products or digest. There will be meat and meat meal in the first few ingredients. Blue, Wellness, Innova, Solid Gold, Eagle Pack Holistic... lots of good foods! You want to transition from the Beneful to the new food fairly slowly: start with 1/4 new food for a couple of days, then 1/2 and 1/2 for a couple of days, then 3/4 new food for a couple of days, then you're fully switched. Any loose stools, and you might want to go more slowly and add some plain yoghurt to her meals. Keep in mind that there is no best food in the world... even a very good food is not the right food for every dog! If you pick a good food and it isn't working, pick a different good food and start over.

They are poisonous to Humans, too. You need to wash your hands thoroughly and posibly extended after touching,.. or you may have some mystery illness shrugged off as Food Poisoning. Many fools put the plant on a table that has or will have food,.. then it's the meats fault everyone is sick.
So yes,.. Poisonious to Dogs,.. maybe all mammals (maybe some can handle poison in their system).
Added: It doesn't matter if allergies create more obvious reactions,.. if it's spread around and someone with severe allergies is exposed to it for all the months it sticks to surfaces in your home, their life is threatened.
vettek85: Certain breeds are more open to and some Dogs & Cats have senstive GI tracts. What this means is if their GI track is at all effected or have any reaction, they can die. Some times with Dogs and Cats something irritateing their intestiants causes their intestiants to turn and twist so they are obstructed and surgery needs to be done to remove PARTS OF the intestiants. *knows way too much useless information* So while some humans have the luxery of just feeling it as warm when touching the "latex", others can have serious reactions.
And if anyone starts that " My Dog/Cat wouldn't eat something bad for them or that might kill them" aside from the obvious things like Feces,.. Anti-Freeze/Colent smells delishious to Dogs, some cats, and alot of other animals. But it doesn't kill on contact and a little drop in the system makes only a little sick,.. not worth worrying about,.. but a lap or two of the tounge and their organs are threatened,.... and their life.

Definitely, plants are not good at all for dogs not even grass. When I first got a dog, my husband did some research and that year for Christmas at his jobs Christmas party, they had huge poinsettia plants and I brought home one I was going to bring home 2 but my husband told me if my puppy ate it she would die, so I only brought home 1 so I could keep it on the table.

No, they are not poisonous to any animal. Everyone used to think so, but they only cause GI upset. So you still shouldn't let your animal eat them, or any other plant.

They can make cats and dogs sick but they won't kill them. There are a lot more harmful plants but you still should keep them away from your pets.

I answer ALL pet questions, in the pet section! Anyway, you shouldn't even let your dog be playing and/or eating any plants. =)

Yes, among other things the sap or latex is irritating and if they get it in their mouths, it's a problem.
