If the American is in violation of his/her visa limits/restrictions then yes, they are criminals.

For example, if an American is there on a tourist visa, but decides to work a couple of shifts to earn some extra money, then they are violating the restrictions on their visa and therefore are committing and illegal act.

Just because they're American does not, as the first answer states, mean that they are above the law in any country. Each country has it's own laws and visa restrictions, and as visitors to that country, we are legally obligated to follow and remain within the restrictions and guidelines outlined on our visa applications.

There are different types of visas, if the American had applied for the correct one, their activities and presence in the UK would not be illegal.

Now your trying to bate people aren't you? The difference between a tourist and an illegal ALIEN is that the tourist from abroad has a passport and must report to customs upon arrival in any Civilized country, the ALIEN just swims a river and says to hell with the law! Why don't you try sneaking into good old Mexico illegally and then you tell me if the standards aren't skewed between the two,of course you'll have to send us a post card. Ole Vicente 'nem are going to keep you for 10 to 20!

Would'nt think so.Many illegal citizens are going about thier lives in a lawful, industrious manner.Only if this person is a criminal in thier own country(wanted)should they be classed as such.Perhaps this person cannot lawfully seek citizenship because of some misdemeanor.Technically they are breaking the law,but criminal no.

Yes I do ! As a American Citizen I believe that no one has the right too enter another country with out the express permission of the People of that Country since it is already part of the immigration laws in most countries that you need to go through proper channels.

No, they're all legal tourists with passports as far as I know, unless one or two got out of line during the annals of history.

American Criminals???.the ones who spend big bucks in your country as tourists? Or the brown Islamic criminals who plant bombs on your buses, I'm confused, which one again?

You should feel it an honor if an American wanted to live in the cesspool of a country you have turned into.

I always thought the English knew how to write in English.
Do you mean "citizen" as well as "criminal"?
If so, then "yes".
