some girls who r not engaged or married or even in any relationship put on a ring on the marriage finger...y is this so and wat does it mean?...r they just puttin it on so guyz dont talk to them or wat...

We put it on because it shows that we don't need a man to buy us a ring for that finger. Also, sometimes, to keep guys from hitting on us — it makes them think we're spoken for.

2. sometimes thats the finger the ring looks best on
3. sometimes you dont think about it...i can never remember which hand is the "married hand"...its kinda like remembering which ear to pierce if you're a guy (incase you didn't know, piercing either the left or the right - i cant remember, thereby proving my point- indicates a man is gay)

It's usually a purity ring. That is supposed to be on the marraige finger.

I know some of my friends will do this at the club because they either have a boyfriend or just want to go out and have fun and not worry about hook ups or whatever.

i wear a ring on my marriage finger for many reasons. first, the ring i wear is a gift that was given to me before i left home, so it has a special meaning to it. second, that's the only finger it fits on :D. third, yeah, i wear it to keep guys from hittin' on me. four, not only is it to remind me of my home, but it is also to remind me of a promise i made when i was younger. and fifth, to keep guys from hittin' on me....

its probably a purity ring. it goes on the ring finger. its a promise not to have sex b4 marrage so thats probably what it is.
