Among those who believe in God do have faith which is one and the same. But the organized religions by institutionalizing the human faith have distorted it with individual opinions of certain persons and glorifying them as God's Messengers or Prophets.
When it comes to faith, all are one. But when it comes to opinions it is drifted away from inner faith and we tend to quarrel as disciples (Muslman in Arabic) and followers (Christians and Jews). Otherwise, the whole mankind has only one faith in God, who is one and the only one. The Semitic religions have distorted the Hindus as 'uncivilized', 'uncultured', 'animistic', 'idol worshipers' etc. etc.
But Hindus are the first and the last to talk of unity in faith, where as, they respect variety in opinions with regard to various aspects of God and His creation.

Not soon. But i think there will be a convergence of beliefs, independent of whom we worship. We will gradually come to a realization that we are more alike than we care to admit. We will come to a better global spirituality that encourages compassion, cooperation and peace. Everything else is merely religion.
There will be faith in the future of mankind, perhaps, but I don't think there will soon be one religion, because too many of us would somehow secretly like their religion to "win" out of all these sad conflicts we have. Everybody else seems to read the wrong book, use the wrong building or venerate the wrong person or being. Too often, religion has become a platform for prejudice, discrimination and hatred.
I believe to be truly loyal to your own religion is to be loyal to all people and their well-being. Easier said than done, but anything less will only bring about more suffering.

There will never be a single faith for all of mankind.
That is expecting 6+Billion people to all agree on the same god or higher power.. There is not a chance of it ever happening.
Think about the Senate its hard enough to get 100 people to agree on the same idea, let alone 6billion and change.

ONE FAITH is slavery. Who is the one who decides? It is a limitation of freedom and thought. I think about numbers and this is the conclusion I came to.
ONE limits ideas and enslaves the mind
TWO faiths compete and are jealous
THREE conjoin and share.
FOUR have block parties
FIVEThere's politics at work
SIX Each faith has riches
SEVEN each faith sends followers out to prostelyze
EIGHT faiths have secrets.
NINE faiths incorporate and Government infiltrates the issues and profits
TEN faiths and powers of God have passed to micriphone of the preacher and TV and radio and wild west rodeo audiences.
) faiths lets God rule the show.. I look for God in the round zero of the universe.

At this particular time?no! there is too much division throughout the world for everyone to come in one accord. But there will definitely be a one world religion somewhere in the future.Biblical prophecy concludes that before and after Christs' return.

Sure there can be, but you're going to have people argue and disagree about what it is. (Christianity, Islam, Buddhism, etc)
Personally, I think it's Islam. It's a religion that espouses brotherhood and tolerance. It's a very anti-racist religion, and people are united worldwide by it. Even people from Bangladesh and Morocco will pray side by side with me, even though we do not speak the same language, and we all pray in the same language and face the same direction in prayer.
"O people! Your God is one and your forefather (Adam) is one. An Arab is not better than a non-Arab and a non-Arab is not better than an Arab, and a red (i.e. white tinged with red) person is not better than a black person and a black person is not better than a red person, except in piety." Narrated in Mosnad Ahmad, #22978.

Dr., you know that a world wide religion is a precursor to worse things. If not, it would be impossible because man wants power. Accountability and the means to enforce it would have to be draconian in nature. A diversity of religion, although is corrupted by man, also means a diversity in culture. We will never be good enough to make it happen.

you can have faith in science. Gravity works every time. Religious faith however is useless. Prayer works no more often than rubbing a lucky rabbit's foot.
I'll stick with science. Every cure for a disease or illness can be attributed to science.

Yes - as science proves, there can only be one truth, and any other theories that oppose that truth are invalid.
Its not so much a question of "is their one true faith" as much as, "will people put aside their personal pride and lusts to submit to that one true faith".

No, I don't think so. I believe that if there is a God, that this might be a test. I think that maybe, if he's there, he meant for there to be many different religions, to kinda see how we handled it. Why else would the bible be so hard to interpret? He just wanted to see what we would do with it. This coming from an agnostic, so not very reliable.
