It doesen't move at all and quit suddenly. I don't know if it is electronic or cable, but the mileage indicator still works so I assume it is electronic..I just don't want to tare the dash out if I don't have to.

You are probably going to have to change the speedometer/odometer assembly as they are all the same unit. I think those years still use a cable drive speedometer and that is what is still running the odometer. THe speedometer is part of that set and changes out as one single unit. Easiest might be to simply change the entire cluster from a used vehicle as often they don't want to break up the cluster and sell just the speedo. Should be cheap though as Jeeps are common in salvage and parts are reasonable. Also not a real hard job to do either. Just have to reach under the dash first and unclip the cable. You know the cable is still good since the odometer works.

In entire i think of approximately 10,000 My jeep that's an 04 cost approximately 17,000 yet with financing would be around 21,000. in simple terms go searching on web pages for various costs and see what the standard is; its a much extra helpful indicator

sorry but its an integral unit, if the speedo quit but the odometer works then the speedo shot craps. Call Clements Jeep in Branson Missouri for a used part, 1-800-225-5430

remember if you change it you have to be honest about it or you would be commiting fraud when you sell it

could just be the fuse. try replacing it. If that doesn't work it's probably the cable that connects speedometer to transmission.
