No matter what I seem to do, new baking sheets look like crap after a few months. Since they are non-stick, I don't grease them but after a while, they acquire this sticky/greasy brown residue. How do I keep them looking new?

I have had the same non stick baking sheets for several years. Immediately after use I was with dish soap in hot water and make sure that there is NO grease left on them. Use a little bit of cooking spray to keep things that stick from sticking. if you do have something stick - soak in hot water with dish soap.

buy one of those silicone silpat liners put in the pan. Spray with cooking spray. Wash them by hand. The dishwasher will slower make the non-stick property go away.

I personally do not like the non-sitck pans. I usually buy commercial grade pans and put my silicone silpat on the pan and bake away.

Well for starters, don't use steel wool on them. Use a silicone based tool also. My girlfriend puts that plastic stuff you use to rap school books with on them to keep them from scratching when they're in storage.
