Im am an asian girl who has lost contact with her mother due to a family disagreement...therefore any of my mums home made curry...coz the commercial stuff you buy from supermarkets or even the stuff u get from a take away or indian resteraunt tastes nothing like the homemade authentic stuff ma makes!

My Mom’s Paprika Hamburgers

This is a popular main dish at my mom’s house.

1 ½ pounds beef chuck, ground
1 egg
1 ½ tsp salt
¼ tsp pepper
¼ cup fine dry bread crumbs
1/3 cup milk
¼ cup minced onion
1 tbsp butter or margarine
1 tsp flour
½ cup vegetable-juice cocktail
1 tbsp paprika
½ tsp steak sauce
1 can (10 ½ ounces) cream-of-vegetable soup
½ cup dairy sour cream

Hot cooked noodles

Mix lightly first 6 ingredients and 2 tablespoons onion. Shape into 8 patties. Brown on both sides in butter in skillet. Remove patties and pour off all but 1 teaspoon fat. Blend flour into fat in skillet. Add remaining onion, vegetable-juice cocktail, paprika, and steak sauce. Bring to boil and put patties back in skillet. Cover; simmer for 15 to 20 minutes. Remove patties and keep warm. Blend soup and sour cream in mixture in skillet and heat, stirring. Add patties and serve in skillet with noodles. (If preferred, put patties on a hot platter and pour sauce over the top.) Makes 4 servings.

Anything and Everything :) When I make many dishes they turn out good, but it just seems like something is missing. Probably just the fact that my mom made it for me.

She would laugh because she taught all of us how to cook, and we do it quite well, but it just isn't the same......I can't wait to go home at Christmas!

This may sound a little homely, but when I was struggling to make ends meet in college, I couldn't wait to get home and eat my mom's homemade meatloaf and macaroni and cheese! It stil is one of the best things she makes!
