She was over today, admired our Christmas tree, then said, "I don't see the ornament of the granny I gave you - where is it?". Then as she was leaving, she wandered thru our house - I thought she was going to the bathroom - when she came back, "The picture I gave you is not up - If you don't like it, just give it back." She has always (for 23 years) been verbally abusive with me - I am always polite with her (I respect my elders, she's 80), and never talk back to her - however, If I had the right thing to say to her to put her in her place, I'd sure like to let her have it.
Any suggestions to curb granny's forked tongue?

you need to talk to her. be respectful, but assertive. she needs to know that she has no place in telling you how to decorate your tree or where to place paintings in your house.

Tell her what does she think you've been using for toilet paper?
And she's wrong to say you didn't put these things to good use.

LOL, at least you don't live with her like I do with mine (not to mention Grandmother in-law).
