I believe there are enough jails, enough policement, and enough courts. There needs to be harsher punishment to deter criminals.

What your statement means to me is that there are laws that exist that represent more of a nuisance to law enforcement. These same laws are also not well liked by people.

We do have enough jails, just too many people going in them for stupid, petty crimes. We should be sending the big-time offenders of the law into the jails. We may/may not have enough policemen, but what can you do. You can't force people to become police men. And we do have enough courts.

However, in this statement it seems like you're talking about revolution. Yes, if EVERYONE or a huge majority was really truly against a law that had no reason for being a law, than the people would be heard over the government, as in most successful revolutions.

In my opinion we have enough jails, however we could use more policemen. We have enough courts, however we do not have a totally effective system for our judicial branch. If we stopped placing people in jail for petty drug charges and started stricter pentalies for rapists and convicted murders would be a strong stance. The unfortunate truth about of judicial branch is that the rich are innocent and the poor are always guilty...

i agree with this statement. if people don't support the law, there is no real way to enforce it no matter how many policemen, jails or courts we have.

If the people don't think it should be a law, there is no use trying to enforce the law because they won't abide by it so no amount of officers or jails will help.

I think, people should follow all rules and laws. "Render unto Caesar what is Cesar's."

I agree. I really wish there weren't so many criminals in this world that we need so many jails, policemen, and courts. Why are there so many crazy people in this world???

Building more places to throw away more lives is understandably not a popular idea in the eyes of the general population. most of us like to think of our selves as good people so we don't like thew idea. but of course we insist on protection from criminals.
but criminals are not what makes up the majority of inmates incarcerated
at least 50% to 80% of the individuals are sick drug addicts
their should be treatment instead of incineration.
effective treatment is key, and also research, funding, and education
but their seems to be lack of interest when such matters are brought up. So building prisons has become Americas fastest goring economy

I agree. the thing that sucks it that it will take a lot for it to change into a better working system. for it to change people will have to get so sick of crime that they will actually change the way the raise there kids and make them in to better people. The only way i see this happening is a total break down of society

i agree with the statement. in my opinion, that is the reason why corporal punishment such as whipping across the back should b e employeed to certain individuals as punishment to get it over with and make sure we dont have to pay for everyones mistakes.
