We are to wed on January 27th. We met through eHarmony. According to this wedding planner we have been using, we are supposed to give each other a personal gift for the wedding. Now, I have no limit to the list of things I can give her as a present, but I dont think they are good enough. More like things for Christmas or a Birthday.
I am hoping for some ideas for some more personalized gifts. I dont want you to tell me exactly what to get, just some ideas, maybe some websites. I want to be able to choose ya know? I just need some help getting off the ground.
Thanks!

Ok, just wanted to add that I dont really think that jewelery is appropriate. The ring I've bought is amazing (And definately way out of my normal budget heh). I want something that is more of a heart warming, personal nature than something sparkly and pretty.

A piece of jewelry to wear that day, necklace, bracelet, right hand ring, something with her birthstone in it and/or diamonds. Something blue, like a handkerchief with her initials one or something for your new home as a couple, like a throw pillow with your names and wedding date on it. One pearl on a strand with a note about giving her a new one every year on your anniversary until if is filled b/c she is a pearl on the strand of life or something to that effect. Write a poem or story about the first time you knew for sure she was the one you wanted to marry, that one thing that made you say, hey I'm gonna ask this woman to spend the rest of her life with me and only me. and include it in whatever you choose to give her. Congratulations and I am sure that whatever you give her, she'll love it as long as it comes from your heart!

I don't think you should give your wife-to-be a gift. What business is it of the wedding planner to tell you this? Sounds like you are spending enough money as it is.
But I once read of this "groom's tip" which is kind of nice: If you are taking a limo at any point during the wedding festivities, make sure the refrigerator in the limo has a bottle of champagne and surprise your bride with that.

Go simple! Most guys think they're not creative but it's very easy to impress alot of women. Write down some of your favorite memories w/ her & put them in a book w/ extra pages so the 2 of you can add new ones; make a photo album; have something framed that reminds you of when you met. Good luck & congratulations :)

You should try an iMemoryBook.
My roommate is getting married this month and he is creating a wedding memory book for his fiance right now. He wrote his story of how they met and how they got engaged, then she wrote her story. Then Justin (my roommate) invited me, and all of his family and her family to the book to write their favorite memories about the two of them. When he is done, iMemoryBook will ship them a hardbound color copy of the wedding memory book.
My sister also just got engaged at Thanksgiving and is getting married in March. I have started a wedding memory book for her also. I know she is going to love it. These books are completely personalized from beginning to end.
You should gather up all your photos. Get her side of the story (she will never expect) and then give her a wedding memory book.
Good luck.

Congrats on the marriage - I hope it goes beautifully.
Jewelry is always nice
Anything collected is a good idea ie: Angels...
A poem from the heart with a small piece of jewelry
things that mean the most, just use your imagination.

You could always go with a bracelet or a pendent . I could just write a little love letter (That's just me, I love when my man does that) Make her a cd for when she get dressed. Maybe a really nice handkerchief. Or a massage the day of the wedding.

Make her a nice (meaning using fancy paper etc-they also sell kits to help create scrapbooks) scrapbook of your relationship! I know someone who did that and it turned out so nice. Put pictures and little things that represent your relationship. If you arent that creative, get someone to help you who is. I know she would love it..if thats not "nice" enough, you could always do it for her bday or Christmas.

What I wanted for my wedding gift was a picture of a chappel with our names and wedding date on a sign in the picture. It hangs in our frontroom.

Give her some plastic flowers and tell her that "your love for her will last until those flowers die." As cheesy as it was my lady still has her plastics in a vase and still shows the company whenever they come over. It's been almost a decade.

You could give her a beautiful photo album with her new (married) name on it for the photos you'll take on your honeymoon. That would be something wonderful to have years later.
