A guy friend of mine said i dont seem interested enough, that i dont really flirt a whole lot, but that guys are interested in me. there is a guy i want to flirt with more, but what if he has no feelings for me and i make a fool of myself by putting myself out? what should i do?

Flirting is not "putting yourself out". It's just a fun thing that helps build a person's self esteem. It's nice to know that someone can get a positive response when flirting.
Maybe when a guy is out with you, you don't present yourself as being interested in him. Are you reserved and a bit cautious when you go out? That may seem like you don't want to be there.

Why do we have to ask you people out all the time! Forget social conventions and just ask some random guy out. The times they are a changing and so is the social scene. Why does this stupid social norm of guys asking girls out always get in the way? If you want a boyfriend so much just stand up, walk across the bar and do what they really want you to do. 9 times out of ten, guys don't ask girls out because they know they will get rejected, so chances are, you really are good looking, and unless there is some rich guy around, you aren't going to be asked unless you suggest your willingness.

Dont worry! take the risk and tell him. If he doesnt like u, oh well more guys for u to go after! HIS LOSS IM SURE! try flirting to get a response. Look at him alot, talk to him, when he talks look right at his eyes and put ur undefided attention on him. ask to study with him. maybe your too good looking or they're intimidated by you. Because i'm quiet i got told that ppl think i'm up myself n stuff like that....... which stopped people from approaching me.

I wish I knew the answer so us single girls could have dates ;) You can say men are intimidated by smart independent women but I find that hard to believe. I'm not going to pretend to be someone I'm not. If you like to flirt more, go for it. Then you'll see if he likes you back. Maybe he'll ask you out for drinks. Have one for us!!

flirting is harmless and you don't have to flat out say that you like a guy when you are flirting with him. try to use your sense of humor when you flirt. and also, give it some time, because i was like you in high school, no guys ever asked me out, and now, guys from high school ask me out all the time. it's great.
