Why is it that people think jockeys can't have beards, this is absurd! I've worked in horseracing for 5 years and I know jockeys who wear beards, mustashes, and gotees. There is nothing in the rules that says a jockey can't have facial hair of any kind.

This question has been asked about 5 times in the last few months. Try searching the archives before asking your questions!
I'll give the same answer I have always given:
It does not say anywhere in the Rules of Racing that a jockey cannot have facial hair
It is probably for reasons of comfort that most jockeys are clean shaven.
Another reason may be that in the good old days jockeys were expected to turn up at a trainers yard looking clean and respectable each morning before riding out - this would include being clean shaven.
If you go to a trainers yard now, many of the "old boys" (those in their 60s and 70s) still wear a shirt and tie around the yard.
Don't believe me? Click on the link below to a well known trainers yard, and scroll down till you get to "Snowy" Outen (3rd from bottom), he is almost 80 and still wears his shirt and tie to work!

There are no rules about jockeys having facial hair that I have ever seen.
I am not sure why people keep asking this question.

I would say that they could, but most choose not to because it is excess weight (I know, not much at all) that is not useful to your job.
So much of their lifestyle is about maintaining a weight lower than most of us could ever do (even adjusting for those that are taller).
That's why most jocks have short hair, too.

Because they are in the public eye meeting with owners and trainers, and have to look smart which means being clean shaven!!

Their voices haven't broken yet, you can't expect them to start shaving.
