can anyone tell me wat are the "main categories" of the products of metal fabrication? thanks?

Fabrication has to do with the bending and shaping of metal more so than the cutting of it by turning or milling (which would be "machining").

There is sheet metal - which may be cut, bent and shaped.

Then there is extrusion - tubes, bar, channels and beams. Sawed or sheared, bent, rolled, twisted.

Either may also be welded.

These are what I think of when I use the term "Fabrication".
