Sea salt, however is not iodized.

In most countries the government requires that most salt be Iodized. This is due to the fear that many children will not have a sufficient supply of iodine in their diet from other sources such as fish. Iodine is vital for the correct functioning of the thyroid gland.

Yes.Table salt is still iodized. Virtually all salt sold in the store is iodized. You have to specifically look for non-iodized salt. Typically sea salt, picling salt, and canning salt do not have iodine.

Most of the salt sold in developed countries is iodized. The Iodide in the salt is important because it alows your thyroid gland to generate the hormone thyroxine.

Basically all free-flowing salt includes iodine, it usually only says it in the fine-print. Its neccessary for the clotting process of the blood so its become included in the production of most table salts that you buy. I think it is so usual to include it that they've stopped writing it large on the labels.
