I've always been curious. Wouldn't they slip off a lot?

Well, aside from learning how to balnce and being coordinated, there is something called sex wax (no, it has nothing to do with sex), that surfers can rub over their boards to create a surface that is less slippery and creates a bit of traction.

the surfboard isnt slippery. If it is waxed, your feet get a good grip on the board and dont slip off.

the wax and some surfboard hav traction pads ( this is mostly for short boards)

the wax keeps you from slipping off and you can have traction pads but I think that's more for turning and stuff

i am a surfer and i surf in hawaii so i know how i stay on the board by surf wax and your body wait
