what does people's religion have to do with their music choice? Some Christians listen to music other than Christian music. And how can you ask if atheists and Muslims listen to music at all?! That is probably the stupidest question I have ever heard! Something tells me you've been living under a rock your whole life.

I listen to Christian and secular music. I do not listen to things I find offensive, whether it goes against God or not...the issue with me is if I find it offensive I figure it's a case of garbage in, garbage out. That is the same as with movies I watch and books I read. I love Stephen King books, and yes they are classified as horror but they usually have some sort of meaning behind them of some sort. I don't read "trash".

For all the years I was an atheist, I listened to gospel music on occasion, as well as everything else. From rap to classical I like it all. I fail to see how one's religion determines taste in music.

I agree that it is important to be careful what you put into your mind. Since becoming a christian, I listen mostly to contemporary christian. There are several secular songs that have deep spiritual meaning in the ears of the listener.
Example:
Clay Akiens/Measure of a man
Nick Lachey/Whats left of me

At this moment I have the CD player beside me & I'm listening to Christmas carols. Enjoying them once again. Still I also listen to country & western, some classical, some rock{oldies}, some pop. I'm quite selective but I do enjoy. Secular music: way I see it why would God give so many people such amazing talents if He didn't want to hear music & singing. I believe he enjoys it when people use these gifts He granted to them to their fullest. His gifts are not to be wasted.

I like to listen to the music of the 60s. Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Perry Como et al. I also turn on the Celtic Woman on a PBS station at least twice a week. The troupe is from Ireland and I've never heard better.

I think one should be careful what they put into their mind because those are the things that will manifest in their lives. My personal preference is hard rock and metal music. Some Christian, some secular. (I am a Christian Witch)
