Yep, I let my puppies play with them all the time! Just like any toy, when it gets torn up a bit toss it. don't want them eating the plastic;-)

MY dogs LIVE for empty plastic bottles. When we leave for work we usually put some dog treats in bottles and put the caps back on. It keeps them busy trying to get the caps off. They also like plastic milk cartons, cereal boxes and the empty boxes from cases of pop or beer. Mine never eat what they chew though. They like to leave slimy pieces of plastic and cardboard all over the house for me to step on.
Cheapest toys you can find!
I'm seeing a trend here....did I mention that one of mine is part Lab?

Well, many chew toys are also made of plastic. Some plastic can be poisonous, but for water bottles, its probably safe, or else we wouldnt drink out of them. Just make sure he doesnt eat the plastic

My dogs likes to make even with is interior the residing house on the time his new chew toy, thats how his love for water bottles all started :)

There is nothing that a plastic water bottle can do to a dog that a bone can't think about we put them in our mouths.

My lab/retriever loves them and soda bottles. She tears the label off, plays soccer with the bottle a while, pounces it until it's flattened, then shreds it and leaves trash all over the place.

Remove the screw on cap and let him play with it. I use the 2 liter bottle for my Boxers cause the only part of it they can get into their mouth is the neck. Just watch to be sure he doesn't eat the neck when he is carrying it around and playing with it. Also, remove the paper wrapped around it.

I don't see why not. I'd just remove the cap so the dog doesn't get it stuck in his throat. If your dog likes this, Pet stores like PetSmart carry reasonably priced toys that have something like that on the inside so when the dog bites down it makes that crackly sound and feels like that. Your dog will probably go bonkers over that sort of toy.
Our dogs love them too.

if you don't mind plastic water bottle parts all over your house.
otherwise, maybe you could get him a dog toy shaped sort of like a water bottle?
also, i would be concerned, if it was my dog, about him choking on little parts after he chewed it to smithereens, but my husband says I am a little overneurotic about my animals, so maybe you don't need to do that...
