1 pound = 2 cups, so 1/8 pound = 1/4 cup.

So, 3/8 of a pound is 3/4 of a cup.

We can't answer the question unless we know what you're measuring. For instance, 3/8 of a pound of butter would be 3/4 of a cup.

But..... if you were trying to figure out how many cups was in say... whipped cream, there would be more because whipped cream has less mass or density. And if you had 3/8 of a pound of lead I can assure you that it wouldn't be nearly that much!

You question has volume and weight together. Volume will always be a constant. In other words, by the fluid ounce or volume, there are 8 fluid ounces in 1 cup. However, as many others mentioned, actaul weight by the pound will depend on the density of the product your weighing.

Describe what your weighing and you could get a better answer.

In terms of a LIQUID: 8/8 = 1lb = 16oz = 2 cups (a cup equals 8oz.) So, 4/8 = 8oz = 1 cup, and 3/8 = 6oz = 3/4 cup.

In terms of a SOLID: Depends on the weight of the solid...read the container label. Good luck!

Question is kind of bogus..Think about this, 3/8th pound of feathers as opposed to the same volume of sand....You can't measure volume of an unknown item by weight....
