So we have been going out for two weeks now. Our school's winter formal is January 20, which is still a ways away, but they are making announcements, putting up posters, and have started selling tickets at school. I'm pretty sure that if I ask her she will say yes, but the one thing holding me back is that then what if something happens between us from now until then? I sincerely hope won't be the case, I really like this girl.
So my question is, should I go ahead and ask her to the dance, or wait a few weeks until it gets closer to the actual date (we go on winter break Dec. 21)? I asked my brother, who is a psychology major in college, and his advice was to wait a little and see if she says anything about it first.
For what its worth, I'm a sophmore and she's a freshman.
I get back from winter break on January 10, which seems too close to the date of the dance to ask her, since it wouldn't give much time to make plans...

No, ask her now so you can buy the tickets. You don't want to miss buying the tickets because of it being sold out or not having any money for it. Just ask her now. She'll be thrilled and want to plan your outfit and everything! Ha ha! Enjoy, little one!

Ask her on teh 20th and buy the tix that day. If you are not together by then, try ro sell it or ask a family member ( one of your cool guy cousins) to go w/ or go solo.

wait a week or two then ask her you could ask her over xmas break like have her for dinner or something cute and romantic and then ask her then you dont have to ask her in school or anything...im a sophomore too thats what i would do.
