Poverty is a spiritual problem. It is a problem mostly caused by the mindset of society as a whole, that we are separate and unconnected from each other and from God, that there is not enough for everyone, and an unwillingness to share, and the fact that 1% of the world population controls 90% of the resources of this world, and the inability to understand that everything on this earth belongs to everyone of us, not just some of us. The fact that most of us are taught to believe that we are unworthy is another cause of poverty.

You know what? That was the same question i have in my mind a long time ago. I even once said to my husband that whenever possible I will try to build a foundation to reach out individuals and families- start educating everyone to become self reliant, responsible and honest individual...a matter of value formation to everyone...whatever is your status in this world. Maybe start from the very basic form of society, the family in which principles are being learned by offsprings and will be handed from generation to generations...

That would be nice. However, according to the Bible there will never be a poverty-free world before the second coming of Christ. :"The poor you have with you always", is the words of Jesus himself. Matthew 26:11

You can't. IN THEORY, If you give what you have to help others, and other people give, there will always be an inbalance of haves and have nots thus creating a constant state of "poverty."

1) get rid of govt welfare ( it was suppose to be a temporary format; not a way of life), 2) "everyone" has a talent, put them to use. Michael Moore "proved" every single individual "can" do something and is willing to. Our govt actually encourages people not to develop themselves or their self-esteem. Build a community of self-sufficient people doing the basics and "train" them to develop their talents for more; they pass on what they have learned. If you "donate" anything donate knowledge. As for the Bible person, you can either sit around and "wait" for the second coming, or as it also says in the Bible, these things do not have to come to pass, "WE" can prevent them from happening by "changing": Heavenly Father "wants" us to succeed.

Educate them- that is the best way. Education is power. Give a man a fish, he will eat for one meal. Teach a man to fish, he will eat for a lifetime.
