This basically means Microsoft thinks your copy of XP is non-legit as you have probably registered with microsoft your serial key on different hardware. The program from microsoft that is responsible for your notices is WGA or Windows Genuine Advantage. It is an automatic update from microsoft, and can be found in the hotfix updates in add/remove programs. There are uninstallers for it out there, although I would talk to Microsoft to see if they have a utility that can remove or correct thier assumption of your seemingly legal system.

The key that goes with your "multi-license" XP CD might not be licensed for the amount of computers you've installed it on, and therefore has been blocked by Microsoft. Make sure you're within your licensing rights on that CD key - if you're sure its genuine, call the Microsoft piracy people and explain the problem and they will be able to tell you what the problem is.

No it ain't a virus... I had the problem before, it's due to the Window's Genuine update and probably too many ppl are using that same disk so you get that error. The best thing to do is to phone Microsoft. PH# 1-877-568-2495

Microsoft may of flagged your serial number as invalid.
If it's a valid license, contact Microsoft to have it fixed or receive a new license number

It's probably WGA from MS.

If you have a genuine disc, then ring them and get it sorted.

They have a response team stup for this.
