I got a 04 Ram 4X4. I raised the front up about an inch and a half to level it out. What would be the biggest tire I could fit before I needed to get a lift.
It came stock with 275 60 20s which comes out to about a 33 inch tire, i put on 285 55 20 i did the math and they came out to be about a 32 1/2 by 11.50

Your stock size should be 245/70/r17 which works out to 30.5"
Without any lift/fender trimming/ tire rubbing the safest bet will be 32"s. If your willing cut away some inner fender or sheet metal you can do 33". It probably wouldn't be a good idea on a daily driver because you would slightly messed up gearing so just stick with 32"s or 275/70/r17 unless you want to lift and regear it. Those are a little bit wider ones too and it will look pretty sick, a little like a trophy truck.
PS Most tire shops will test fit a tire your looking at and check for clearance themselves.

Let me guess you turned the Torsion Bars a few turns. You'd need a 3" lift kit if your wanting to put 33" tires on. Looking at 38"s you would need a 6" lift kit but then you will have to compensate for the angle your putting the Drive Shaft on and extend all linkages, ie: Brake Lines . Plus the fact that you'll be rubbing the inner fenders with a shortened turning radius. Don't mean to crimp your style, it's what else is involved with putting the Bigger Tires on. But then Monies no object Right
BTW Son in Law has done it and you will have to go back to the Dealer and have Truck put on the Computer to be Recalibrated

You might get a 35" tire under there and it would roll, but how far can you turn the steering wheel and the tires not rub. You can't raise it that high. You will have get some wheels that are set out farther from the vehicle, and they will stick out from under the fenders.

sometimes a taller tire that is skinnier will work, when a wider tire wont... i personally dont like tall skinny tires ...they need to be wide if they are tall...or it just dosnt work out... another thread i was reading a guy said he got 33's on his stock dodge truck, his is a 2005 though...hope that helps

33's will be close but should fit. The guy that said "the higher the wheelbase" needs to know what a wheelbase is.
