Well it's really special. Because things happened in her past that prevented her from doing this when she was younger. It's my mother and she is 50 years old. And she is walking in December, and me and my husband are driving out of state to watch her walk. But what about the gift, no flowers, she's actaully flying in to the state herself to walk.. any ideas anyone!!!! I leave in about 1 week :)

How about a great picture of you and your siblings if you have any....a happy picture that will remind her that she, in your eyes had already accomplished much, very much, by raising you. You obviously have turned out to be a great daughter and as much as a degree means to her, trust me on this one, you mean more.
Have the picture framed nicely and give her a card with it that expresses that you are proud of her for all her accomplishments. You are proud to be her daughter, proud to call her mom, and with out her previous sacrifices, that have not gone unnoticed, you would not be who you are. (which clearly is pretty much someone any mom would be blessed to have for a child).
Another idea I had was to get her a graduation style cap (forget what they call em) and some how write mom (like w/ glitter and glue) on it.
I am 50 too, her accomplishment is huge but I absolutely promise you, she is more proud of raising you than getting her degree...but wow, what a gal!!!! Do show up with flowers, they mean alot....just a sweet arrangement to hand the graduate....if she has a sense of humor, how bout a c.d. or the movie "the graduate" w/ Dustin Hoffman....even if you don't know it she will...it would be very funny...get her stuff about her, little things, if she is like me at all she would freak if she thought you spent too much....so....yes some flowers to take to give her after she walks...picture of you, or you and her, heartfelt card and take some time to write it w/ some favorite memories....and most of all tell her how proud you are....every mom should have a daughter like you.....bless you. ps...telll your mom life begins at 50....I just got married to the man of my dreams...!!!!!

What did she give you for your graduation? Give her the same thing, in gold (gold is for 50 years). Or better yet, if she gave you a watch or something that can be engraved, do so and give it back to her.
Or, buy her a Mercedes. Mercedes are always good presents.

Your heart! It will show and she will know. Best wishes from me too. I am crying at the moment - forgive me.
