Yes, and it's not IAM's, Purina, Pedigree, or Eukanuba! These foods are pure garbage. Try Innova, Cannidae, Solid Gold, Wellness, etc...ones that have no fillers like corn, soy, or by-products, etc. http://www.naturapet.com

I feed my dogs Natural Balance.

Remember that dogs are carnivores. The first few ingredients should me meat.

Things to avoid...corn, wheat, soy (fillers) and by-products to mention a few.

A lot of brands have corn in the first 5 ingredients, not a good thing.

Your pup needs a high protein diet as well as the vitamins and minerals mentioned before. We feed our puppy Pedigree puppy dry (it has nice little bits not big chunks) and he's healthy and active, Purina puppy is also an excellent choice. Always check the ingredient label to make sure he's getting the best amount of protein, vitamins and minerals possible.

Good luck to you and your new furkid!

You don't say how old, but you need to buy a food specially formulated for small breeds. We feed Artemis Fresh Mix Small Breed Adult -- http://www.artemiscompany.com/html/products/products_smallbreed_adult.htm

My dog loves the taste of Iams better than other brands we've tried... They make a "mini chunk" version for smaller breeds.

It really doesnt matter what brand you buy...just make sure that the food has a lot of vitamins & minerals that your dog needs.

also, you may want to consider getting the little pieces of dog food....just a thought
