I think it is 18 but you have to go through all kinds of screening processed to make sure that you are secure enough to handle a child.

Most states are either 21 or 25. It also may depend on the agency rules. I know 18 year olds can adopt in very special circumstances (like adopting a sibling when their parents are deceased or otherwise unable to care for the child/ren) but if you're adopting other peoples' kids, you hae to be a little older.

It doesn't matter how old people say. You have to convince people involved in adoption that you fit their criteria and would be suitable to adopt children. These are very picky people,.. they may expect you to be married and makeing 250k a year each. It's all up to that person or those people.
There are times you can adopt when you are still a minor,.. in these cases it is a responcible and already educated relative (like a 16 year old male can adopt his siblings if one of their parents is dieing and the other is dead). But these are special cases and not so normal.

Most agencies will require that you be 25 and married. Some even require 30.
To adopt from the foster care program, sometimes an 18-year-old will be allowed to adopt a relative ... like if you have a cousin in foster care and apply to be their foster parent, you'd be able to adopt them if approved even though the usual age to even HAVE foster kids is 25.

I think you had better grow up a bit before saying things like this. Adopting a child is not like getting a puppy from the lost dog's home. You will be PERMITTED to adopt if you meet all requirements. Yoiu will be investgated as to your morals ,income, living conditions, family situation
and a whole list of things that you must satisfy the authorities with before you can even be allowed to apply. And you MUST have a decent income and career
and explanations as to how the child will be looked after while you are out earning. Dream on baby. Your husband has to meet all the same standards too. It is extremely hard to qualify as an adoptive parent!!!!!!!!!

In America you can be as young as 21 and do a foster-to-adopt program. That is the most cost effective way to adopt, but it is not always guarunteed. You must be at least 23 to adopt in most forein countries, such as South Korea, and the average cost is about $10 thousand dollars (the same price as a normal delivery). Good luck.

Unless you're a biological relation, its 21 for domestic adoptions, but i believe its 25 for single mothers trying to adopt.
Its usually 25 for international adoptions.

well you have to be over the age 18 and you have to have a stable home and income. thats the only way you can adopt children. those are the only things you need to adopt a baby. well plus alot of money.and the bad thing about adopting children is that if the parents want them back they can get them. i kno then you go through the heart ach of it all
