This is a valid question. I am very sory for your lose. I know of a movie called "All dogs go to heaven." You should rent it it will ease your pain.
I know how it feels we were in a fire. OUr home caught a fire last Monday. Since than I had to put up our two cats for adoption. We are very ill and sadden about it. Cause we could not find stay no one allows animals. Very sad in an all distressfull time.
I do not want to think about it any more, but knowing my two kiddens have been already adopted into good homes. We have two dogs left, and struggeling to keep them. One is very old , her owner is thinking on putting her asleep as she is already having medical problems. I hope you will get feeling better. You're in my prayers.

I am sorry for your loss. After my dog died, I found the website:
www.aplb.org
There is a lot of helpful information and there is even a chat room where you can talk to people who care and who understand what you are going through.
Yes, animals DO go to Heaven.

It may not be heaven persay but i strongly believe that they go to a better place where they are just as happy maybe even happier! My cat passed away about a month ago and he was 11. i dont believe that God would create such beautiful creatures and say how much he loves everything just to then let it die and there be nothing! I would be nothing without my cat, we grew together and he made me the wonderful person i am today!

I'm so sorry for your loss. All animals go to the rainbow bridge until their family passes on, so that they can cross the pearly gates of heaven together.
Please read "Do Dogs Go to Heaven? Eternal Answers for Animal Lovers" by Jean Holmes and Norma Jean Lutz. You can find it on Amazon.

If God did not love dogs, he would not have made them. Yes your dog is being taken care of by God and your dog will be there to greet you when it is your time to go. I am truly sorry for your loss. Some people don't think it is a big deal to loose a dog, but I am sure that your dog was an important member of your family and that is a big loss. God Bless you and give it time.

There is a poem "rainbow bridge" that's where pets go to wait for their beloved owner after they pass. They play with the other animals that have passed until their owner passes then they go to heaven together. I don't know where to find it, or who wrote it, but it helped me get over the sorrow of my last dog that passed.
He's waiting for me along with all of my other animals on the rainbow bridge.

Man goes to heaven because God made man, God made many living things with souls and they all go to heaven. Heaven wouldn't be right if we got there and all of our loved ones were not there. May God bless your dog and you. My condolences on your lost
