A man cheats on his girlfriend and she finds out. He says how sorry he is but does not try to win her back. Was this a way for him to get out of the relationship?

Maybe. But it's probably more likely that he 'trespassed' outside the relationship, and afterwards didn't like the first girl enough to go to the trouble to winning her back.
On the other hand, he might just be ashamed, or think that the first girl wouldn't take him back anyway.

I would say that it was and the spineless git didn't have the guts to tell the girlfriend the truth. This type of wimp isn't worth the trouble and don't deserve a decent girlfriend.

I cheated on my ex's because I did not love them anymore because I felt that it would be a good excuse to get out of the HORRIBLE...did I say..HORRIBLE ..relationship that I was in at the time.
