I have a four year old tabby. Every once in a while she will gently bite me. It doesn't hurt at all. She basically just open her mouth and gently closes it on my arm or my leg. She's done this for awhile now. She's very sweet. Is this just her way of trying to get my attention?

I think this happens often with animals that aren't properly weened. Especially with the sucking on blankets, they are recreating nursing their mother. So, yeah, she's probably just showing you that she feels safe and loves you as if you were her momma.

I give you my scenario: I'm trying to relax and watch tv after work. My one cat starts biting my toes, he wants attention and wants to be played with or petted. My other one curls up on the couch next to me and starts sucking on a corner of the blanket in his mouth while purring and kneading me with his paws. They have individual ways of showing affection and I'm sure thats your cat's own way.

My cat does it too but sometimes he gets a bit enthusiastic. It's natural in cat behavior to nip at each other in their grooming activities. Believe it or not, it's an act of love and affection.

When cats like each other, they groom each other and she obviously likes you. She thinks you're grooming her when you pet her, so she's grooming back. Also, she may try to get you to pet her by initiating the grooming by nibbling on you. My cat loves to nibble my nose and chin.

Yup, she is looking for you to give her attention and sometimes if people get upset and yell. any attention is good attention. But just cuddle her more and maybe try lightly tapping her mouth when she does this.

It's affection. When she chomps down on you that's anger. When she does it while you are trying to sleep it's her bratty nature. Of course she wants your attention, and affection.
