Well my friend it's time to turn over a new leaf. The best thing you can do is surf the internet looking for anything that can give you info on deiting. But i'll give you a ruff start.
Eat 5-6 small meals a day (2-3 hours apart)
Cardio 25 min a day (keep the heart rate in the weight loss zone)
and eat a clean diet! look at what your eating, no carbs after 5p.m. that an evil that alot of people dont know about. And im going to assume you eat a little fast food unless your mom is a great cook! :-) cut the fast food out! 2 visits a month is more then enough. and 3 glass of pop per week it's simple things like that, that will help you lose weight.
i would be here for a year explaining what you should eat start here-http://www.illpumpyouup.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=3507&PN=1

You can learn alot at this site, it's free and alot more people to help you out and thay all know there stuff!

You have plenty of choice for exercise. Any sport you can think of! Get out from the video games and go outside. I know it's winter, but you can still build a snowman, or get your buddies and go sledding, that's a killer workout! You don't necessarily need a "program", just get out and get moving!

As far as a sample eating plan, cut out all the soda a junk food. Eat some oatmeal for breakfast with some fresh fruit. Bring your lunch to school. Make a turkey sandwich with no mayo, carrot sticks, an apple and a low-fat portable jello pudding snack. Bring a snack for the afternoon if you need one, like string cheese and yogurt. For dinner, eat what your mom makes, but no seconds.

Good luck! I think it's awesome your taking responsibility for your health at such a crucial time in your life. But focus on how you feel, not the pounds. Sometimes on your weight loss journey you're going to loose inches, not pounds (due to your muscles tightening). So measure your inches too to ward off discouragement.

listen, if you eat right and run 4 miles a day 3-5 times a week. you will be losing probably 2-3 pounds a week, if you really keep at it and keep the workouts intense. which mean you can lose about 8-12 pounds amonth and by the time you reach mid august about 30 pounds. BUT that is if you do not break from your diet and you keep intense workouts. YOU CAN DO IT MY FRIEND.

limit your daily intake of calories, take your weight and multiply by 8 that will equal your caloric intake.

160 * 8 = 1280 Calories out of a balanced 2,000 calorie diet.
160/ 2.2= 72 ounces of water thats about 9-10 8ozglasses of water daily.
Drink lots of water, stay away from junk food like chips, pizza, bread, rice, corn, potatoes anything with alot of calories and carbs. Eat foods with alot of fiber, and protien. Eat in small portions as many times you want as long as it doesn't go over the 1280 calories. Read the nutritional facts, stop eating at a certain time like 7 or 8 p.m. Eat lean meats, fish, salads, vegatables, fruits.
Good luck kid.
