FRIEND

The Christian, Jewish and Islamic GOD does NOT forbid polygamy other than as a sin. The United States Government, and the local state governments forbid polygamy, not as a sin, as a crime. How do you like that...the government enforcing punishment for a sin...how is that for separation of church and state (if you are gullible enough to believe it really exists).

MAY GOD BLESS YOU

because once you do those sins you sin hostile for your human being body. Flee fornication. each and every sin that a guy doeth is without the body; yet he that committeth fornication sinneth hostile to his personal body. a million Corinthians 6:18 Mortify hence your individuals that are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, this is idolatry: Colossians 3:5 What? comprehend ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost this is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are literally not your human being? For ye are offered with a cost: hence glorify God on your body, and on your spirit, that are God's. a million Corinthians 6:19-20

We believe that the natural world has been created by God as an analogy of the spiritual world so that humans can comprehend the spiritual world more easily.. A simple example would be that man was created in the image of God. So life carries with it natural pictures for us. In the new testament the marriage relationship is an analogy to the Christ and the church as explained in Epesians 5:25

"Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself up for her, 26 so that He might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word, 27 that He might present to Himself the church in all her glory, having no spot or wrinkle or any such thing; but that she would be holy and blameless. 28 So husbands ought also to love their own wives as their own bodies. He who loves his own wife loves himself; 29 for no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as Christ also does the church, 30 because we are members of His body. 31 FOR THIS REASON A MAN SHALL LEAVE HIS FATHER AND MOTHER AND SHALL BE JOINED TO HIS WIFE, AND THE TWO SHALL BECOME ONE FLESH. 32 This mystery is great; but I am speaking with reference to Christ and the church."

Therefore to keep the analogy correct God has ordained a one man one woman relationship in marriage in Christianity. This is different in the Old Testament where that analogy did not exist and so pologamy was permitted because the analogy there was the picture of Israel as the wife of God. But it was never God's intention that Israel be the only one that Goid would relate to, but that eventually the message of God would go out to the whole world and other nations, in fact all nations, would be blessed by God. So pologamy was allowed in the OT because the analogy was different.

As far as the nuns go, that is Catholic theology not Bible or Christian theology.

because it wouldn't work for obvious reasons. we'd run out of women pretty quick if a select few men were allowed 23 wives. and how do the women feel about it? can a woman really feel loved when she shares a man with 10 other women?

if you want proof that this stuff doesn't work, look at Ohio with the faux-mormon sect that does allow polygamy. all kinds of weird stuff happening there.

" 'Haven't you read,' He replied, 'that at the beginning the Creator made them male and female and said 'For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh' ' "
(Matthew 19:4,5)
He didn't say the 3 or 4 shall become one flesh, but the 2.
As far as your notion of nuns being God's brides, this is purely a man-made tradition; however the Bible does speak of all true believers being married to Christ; however the Bride of Christ is a corporate figure of all true believers, not of any one individual.

because the 2 (husband and wife) become one. 2 in flesh, but one is spirit.

nuns are God's brides. Do not take the word, brides literally here. Brides means worshipers, servants, children.

i think that your question lacks knowledge but in any case there are christian organization that condone polygamy namely the reorganized Mormon church but the laws of these united states are against and take a firm stand against polygamy, and the larger part of the Mormon community do not practice polygamy because in their church law it states that you are to obey the laws of man as well as the laws of god it is written in the word of wisdom in the church by laws

I've come to the conclusion that nuns are women who have only devoted their lives in service to God, so in turn they forgone the holy sacrement of marriage, I believe it is a choice, and are not married to Him.

Actually the church is God's bride.

I am glad that you stated one girl is enough as I was going to begin with that.

God rejects polygomy, as the marital relationship is a picture of our relationship with God (pls don't get kinky on me, as in our relationship with God is very intimate and I believe our SPirituality and sexuality are very closely related, which is why sexual sins particularly, or sexual abuse are very good at helping people remove themselves from God's presence. )

That's all I can explain at the moment (obviously I aren't catholic and do not adhere to that belief.

Because he originally intended for a man to have one wife. Adam was only given one wife--Eve. See Gen 2:24.
