Knowing that Abraham was a very devoutly religious and God fearing man, I would have to help him. It is all about believing God, and believing that God, as Abraham told his son, would provide Himself a sacrifice, because God does not want us to sacrifice people. And by the way, blood scarifies ended at the cross with the sacrifice that God provided for Himself, His Only Begotten Son, since from before the beginning of creation, His Son Jesus The Christ of God.

God never intended for Abraham to kill his child. Abraham had put his child in such high esteem, that the child became first place in Abraham's life. Abraham was making very bad judgment calls and put his son in front of God. God was just making a point to Abraham. You notice, that He did not let Abraham sacrifice his son.

Context. Context. Context.
Abraham lived hundreds of years before the Ten Commandments were given to Moses and the Jewish people.
Abraham lived in a society where human sacrifice and child sacrifice was the normal thing to do.
God was just beginning to reveal himself to mankind and Abraham did not have the Bible or much of anything else to go on.
Abraham knew that his son was a gift from God. If God demanded that Abraham kill the son, then Abraham, although it probably broke his heart, would do it.
Under the same circumstances (context) would we be able to follow God's will?
Under the much easier circumstances that we live in today, can we follow God's will as Jesus revealed it to us?
With the Ten Commandments, the Prophets, and especially Jesus Christ as part of our current circumstances (context), God would not put us to this test.
But we do have similar issues to tackle, like abortion where we kill our children who are miraculous gifts from God just like Isaac was to Abraham.
In abortion we sacrifice our children to the gods of lust, convenience, economy, and selfishness.
With love in Christ.

Did anyone notice the symbology of God sending a lamb in place of Abraham's son? The point to that story is that only God could provide that kind of sacrifice.

I believe that God really asked Abraham to offer his son Isaac up as a sacrifice. God wanted to see how much Abraham really loved him. He wanted to see if Abraham would be willing to put God first and trust him to supply the ultimate sacrifice, which he did, or if he loved Isaac more than God.
In the same way, God asks us to give up things in our lives that we may think that are really important to see exactly where our hearts lie, and to see exactly how much we love him.
If we love him, we will put him first in our lives, and then allow God to give us what he deems best afterwards.

you're missing the point, Abraham didn't kill his son at the request of God. it was a test of faith, and i'm sure Abraham would have gone through with it, but he didn't need to for God to see that he was faithful, so God stopped Abraham.

If God regarded to me and instructed me to take my dazzling son to the actual of a mountain and sacrifice him in his call, i'm sorry, yet i might tell him to **** dazzling off. i like my son greater suitable than something in this international. regardless of if Abraham knew God might grant an selection sacrifice, and regardless of the reality that Abraham depended on God to hold Isaac back from the ineffective it would nonetheless be a harrowing adventure for any discern. If Abraham believed God might carry Isaac back from the ineffective he nonetheless knew that Isaac might could adventure the excruciating soreness of the actually sacrifice. If Abraham truley believed God might end the sacrifice on the final 2d there might nonetheless be doubts at the back of his concepts, as while situations contain ur babies moms and dads will consistently be scared that some thing will pass incorrect. And for God to invite Abraham to sacrifice Isaac, whether he believed it may well be stopped, rather that's in reality some unwell concepts interest on gods area? what variety of sicko asks a discern to kill their newborn whether they end the homicide on the final minute? Can u think of the turmoil of Abraham?can u think of the phobia of dropping a son at your guy or woman hand? If somebody on the instant asked me to homicide my own son and that i agreed, basically to be stopped on the final minute how do you think of human beings might respond while instructed of my tale? they might think of that besides the fact that this guy or woman stopped the sacrifice, that he remains a psychotic, skill hungry weirdo who has a sadistic outlook on existence and needs human beings to 'tutor' their faith by using putting them for the duration of the worst adventure a discern can ever think of. in recent times if God became into replaced with a human however the story saved the same then 'God' may well be arrested and banged up for existence. with the intention to all you believers accessible that is super for God to dedicate undesirable crimes, yet while a real guy or woman commits the same crime they could be locked up for good.... Double standards lots?

God did say that but he didn't mean to kill Isaac literally. It is simply a test to see Abraham's faith.
