Is she fixed so she cant have kittens?? If not then maybe she was what we will call "catting around" and if that's the case you have kittens on the way in 6 weeks or so...Tom cats are good about going away for periods of time and that's if they too are not fixed --they usually come home all scratched and bit up from fighting other cats for the girl on the block--Then it could be this--sometimes cats will find another human friend in the neighborhood--or like what happened to my cat once--he wandered next door and went into the barn and got locked in for a couple of days --if you worry about your cat and getting lost or stolen then you should consider keeping her in--most cats don't like to be kept in all the time and I don't think they should have to if you live in a safe enough area--we are on a ranch and the cat is in every night because there are other animals out at night that could cause her harm

I would probably make her/him an indoor cat because about two years ago i had an outdoor cat and today he is no longer with us
;(. We have a new cat that we recently got at first i let him go out but i change my mind because i don't want to go through that again. Also if your cat is not spayed/neuter plz get her/him neuter/spayed because this could be reasons why also, but for the safety of your cat i would just keep it inside at all times Take good care of you cat have a great night ;)!!!

That's tough. You want to do what makes your cat happy and yet you want to keep her safe. If she has been spayed then it is unusual for the cat to disappear. If she isn't, let me know when the kittens are born. If you live in a safe area (not too many cars, dogs, crazed children) then I'd say continue letting her out. I had a cat that was missing for half a day and i wandered the neighbourhood calling her and she turned up about an hour later with cobwebs in her whiskers. I still don't know for sure where she went but I suspect she got trapped in a shed or basement and when she heard me calling for her she must have caused a racket until she was released. It's traumatic, but if your cat needs to roam then let her.

First off, if you leave your cat outside, it must be vaccinated with everything the vet can give it.

Two, It is normal for a cat to run off. When we moved, my cat ran away for two weeks. Thought she was a goner, but one night she came back. I found out from a vet that she was marking her territory, and acquainting herself with the local residents.

After two years, though, she was gone. I feel sure she was either caught by a hawk, owl, or a coyote. This was two days after I spent $90 at the vets for her vaccinations, etc..

So personally, and financially, it is better to have your cats indoors. I now have three cats, and they do not go outside.

It is very normal for a cat to wander off and then come back again even days later. Depending on where you live and if you want him/her to be an indoor cat I would keep the cat indoors just for its own safety and your peace of mind.

I would let her out. She is an indoor outdoor cat and if kept captive now might escape for good. I believe cats choose us and not the other way around. Have a catastic day.

That's normal. My parents had an orange tabby (Tom) and a female mixed breed (Miss Kitty) who were indoor/outdoor cats, and they would disappear for a couple of hours & then come back. There were times Miss Kitty would be gone for 2 or 3 days and come back. Tom was gone for a month straight one time, also. If she looks healthy after she made her reappearance, I wouldn't worry about it.

Sometimes a cat just needs to "explore"... the good thing is she came back. As long as she is spayed and is up to date with her shots, she should be OK. Check your area to see if she needs to be registered to your town or county (something being adopted more often now) to keep her from being picked up by the animal control. She can take care of herself better than you think.

Microchipping is a great idea, Enemany...shop around though...we have some vets here that charge as much as 100 dollars, and we were lucky to find someone to do it for 30.

Yeah...when I was first married one of my wife's female cat escaped. About 2 weeks later her former neighbor returned the run away cat...it had returned to my wife's former apartment 48 hour after bolting.

Both of her cats were indoor cats so we kept them both inside.

Of course she (the cat) had been out having a good time and soon we had 3 cats.

Some cats just love to roam. Make sure she has a collar with a bell on it to avoid killing wildlife and a tag with your home address. I've had mainly cats that roamed, one accidently got in the back of a neighbours truck and we thought he'd gone away to de somewhere, he managed to navigate his way home to us though and it turns out he'd had a vist to the neighbours banana farm about a 30 minute drive away. They always come home.
