These are pretty much all ridiculous anwers and certanly not christian like. God's kingdom is not part of this world. The prayer in the bible ask for God's Kingdom to come and to put an end to all earthly kingdoms. If you put your faith and trust in human kingdoms you are proclaiming yourself to be an enemy of God. I can see how many true christians there are in Yahoo!

Ten points for you. I think your additional details says it all. Yes we are to show respect for the superior authorities, as was brought out they are placed or allowed by God. However just as the early Christians we are to remain neutral as far the world affairs are concerned. We look to God's kingdom to bring about peace to the WHOLE world. No man-made government can accomplish this.

Why would "God Bless America?" Since the American government has kicked Him out of the schools, etc. And Jesus did say that he wasn't part of this world.

We are not to put our faith and trust in ANYTHING other than God.
But God has established all authority (He is lord of all whether they know it or not or obey Him or not). AND He says that we are to pray for those in authority.
Rom 13:1-4
13:1 Everyone must submit himself to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God. 2 Consequently, he who rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves. 3 For rulers hold no terror for those who do right, but for those who do wrong. Do you want to be free from fear of the one in authority? Then do what is right and he will commend you. 4 For he is God's servant to do you good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for he does not bear the sword for nothing. He is God's servant, an agent of wrath to bring punishment on the wrongdoer
(from New International Version)
1 Tim 2:1-3
2:1 I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone- 2 for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.
(from New International Version)

I don't see what's wrong with saying "God Bless America." I ask God's blessing on many groups of people; why not my own nation?
As for the Jesus part, could you provide a scripture verse, please? I think I know what you are talking about, but I want to check the context. Thanks!
