Be thankful you have a mother...some people don't have one.
If you don't want her to treat you like a 2 year old, maybe you need to start acting your age.

When I was 14 I yelled at her and told her she was a pain and lied to her and did horrid things behind her back. Now I'm 50 and she's 80 and I try to savor every moment I have with her because she is one of the most beautiful people in the world. When I was 14, I was ignorant and unable to see this. I wish I could have known that my Mom always wanted the best for me and that almost everything she did - even if it got on my nerves - came from a place of love. If I I could go back and change the way I treated back then - I'd do it in a minute - but I can't. You have choices to make right now. I hope, unlike me, you do the right thing!

First of all, I used to be in the same boat you are. I have found that the reason why mom's treat their children as if they were 14 and younger and they are really older than that is because...well, they still look at them as their babies, their child. She isn't trying to get on your nerves, but she is trying to instill in you the lessons that maybe, she didn't get when she was young. And even though it may seem to be annoying now, when you get older and have kids of your own, you will be grateful for evey nerve your mom got on, because it will make you a GREATER and more wiser mother with your children. Also remember, parents sometimes....just don't understand...that's a will smith tune!! LOL

talk to her and tell her how you feel about the way she treats you, I'll bet that she'll understand that you not a baby any more and you are old enough to make your own decisions and want to be treated like a teen and not a two year old kid.i know cuz I'm 14 too and my mom used to get on my nerves too, until we talked

Give her a hug and tell her you love her! She is getting on your nerves because your body has way too many hormones to know what to do with. She loves you and how would you know if she didn't bug you all the time.

try to resolve issues now, being 14 is hard when your parents are on your case but I didn't want to talk to my mum, now I'm a lot older and there is a big gap between us and I don't communicate with her very well

My mother is dead. I wish she was here to get on my nerves.

This is typical at 14...it gets better...for both of you. Let it go and keep proving to her your responsibility and maturity :)

she loves you and wants the best for you. try to understand that. she's been around longer than you have, so she knows a lot more about life issues.
