Is it okay to tell someone you don't know their fly is down? or anything else to alert them to embarrassment?

Yes, tell them because it is far more embarassing to wander around for hours with your fly unzipped then to just be told that its down. Unless you are some stranger walking up to someone on the street to announce to them that their fly is open. Then its a little weird. Otherwise, tell them.

Yes, you are doing them a favor. I wish more people would do this. It's terrible coming home after work and finding out you've had a big piece of green spinach in your teeth since lunchtime.
They may be embarrassed but they'll be appreciative even if they don't say so.

I do, at first i tried just saying "barn door" , but they didn't catch the hint so I waited until the coversation turned and noone was looking or listening to me or them and said "um your zipper is down" I think it is nicer to tell them than for them to go around with their fly down

As long as you do it tactfully and discreetly, I don't see a problem with it.

Though, I think this is more of an etiquette question than a religion and spirituality question.

if its a friend tell em. if its someone u dont really know i wouldnt tell them cuz they will think that u looked there.

no it is not your place to tell them. tell everyone else around so that we all can laugh. dont hold the laughter to yourself. that would be greedy and greed is a sin.

Most people would probably appreciate it, but it's a tricky question...they might wonder why you were looking at their crotch...
