I wanted to give my baby sitter a christmas bonus. Any one have any idea what would be a good amount. We don't make alot of money. But was curious if there is a percentage or something that is customary like with tips.

Does she watch them full time while you work? Is it hourly or dayly or weekly pay? I think a nice homemade gift from the kids (depending on age) would be nice along with an extra day of pay. you said you dont have a lot of money so $100.00 might be out of the question. I know it would be for my babysitter, but an extra day of pay would be a nice gesture and she would be appreciate it.

I am a babysitter and I get lots of different things from the parents at the holidays and if she is any kind of person at all it won't matter as much what or how much you give but the fact that you thought of her enough to do anything at all. On the average the ones that give me money usually give an extra days pay either in the form of cash or a gift card to a store. Maybe it is just me but the gifts I like are the ones the family have made for me either bath baskets, candy, candles things like that. If she is your sitter then she knows you can't afford a lot esp with three kids

I watch 2 kids and the one is in school and gets picked up and dropped off at the house, the other is only 2 and a half and I am potty training him. The people I babysit for gave me $50 dollars last year. If your don't want to spend money, just buy them a fruit basket or a box of chocolates. You could also just give them a gift card to maybe a restaurant or somewhere. That would be the easier.

Maybe the amound of two or three hours for all kids?
Or maybe just let her have Overtime for a few days at Christmas time, maybe between Christmas and new years??
Maybe a plain Bonus Check would be better. Maybe 25 or 50???
You do want her to be nice to your kids, don't u?

It should be 25% of an average weeks wages. If you are looking for a gift instead of a monetary bonus, gift certificates for a restaurant or spa are always a good choice.

I would say equal to one nights pay. If at work you got a bonus of a equal days pay that would be good right, well I am guessing she is a teen or close to and for that age it would be nice. But I do say that if a nights pay is less than $20, give her a $20 or a giftcard for $20.

I think the equivalent to a night's pay is good. Just an average I know it can vary, but there is at least a minimum that she does perhaps $200 weekly pay divided by five days comes out to $40.
Or, you can have your kids make her something. Or, make her some cookies or bread. Perhaps, even an ornament.

If she watches's three kids for you I would say $100.00 per kid would make a great bonus! But if that amount is out of your budget, then find out what she's really into and go from there.
