Walk along the street in Chinatown, and someone may ask you if you want some. More likely around July 4 and Chinese New Year.

= Fireworks are illegal in NYC. However, if you walk around Chinatown during the week before July 4th, you will probably be approached by some peddlers of illegal fireworks. Be careful, though, some of them are con artists who will show you some fireworks and then take your money and hand you a package containing, like, a brick or something, and then run off, so, watch out for that. Good luck, and the link below is to a webpage about buying illegal fireworks in NYC...

I thought firewirks were illegal in NY state?

Drive to a state where they are legal, and bring them home.

Illegal, but only if you get caught. Don't speed and run the risk of getting pulled over, you'll get caught.
