Of course they change your personality that's the whole point-- but they come with side effects that you will probably have to take more pills for -- that's how they get you ,, then your like everybody else and have to take 20 pills a day -- 10 of which are to cure the side effects of the other ones-- the government is a bunch of drug dealers-- that will cause you anxiety-- stay off ANY pill

This is something a qualified doctor can help you with best. I have had severe depression and anxiety in the past and am currently on effexor xr now. I believe that medication is very helpful to me and I also have had extensive counseling and other treatments. Drugs are not necessarily for everyone or a quick fix, but they can be extremely beneficial if used correctly. I don't think who I am has changed at all. My personality might have changed somewhat on some drugs but underneath I was still me. I am still sad sometimes and happy sometimes, but my medication helps me even out a little bit and keeps me from going to a really low place. I still do not consider myself outgoing. My medication didn't suddenly give me the urge to start dancing on tables or anything but it did give me a sense of well being and contributed to my confidence in myself and speaking to people in person and over the phone.

It does change ones personality. Sometimes for the good and sometimes for the bad. For me it was the latter! Thank goodness I have a better doctor now and he discovered my problem was all to do with the thyroid.. it was way out of wack. The thyroid pill is the only pill I'm on now. It's suppose to give me energy but I get sleepy after taking it! My Doctor says
for me to give it more of a try just take it at night
instead and I'm doing that!
For anxiety disorder if you need to take something herb tea is the answer: Arnica, St. Johnswort, Cammomile, or plain old Cinnamon!
try the latter if it not help then try the other herbs one at a time of course!

It doesn't change you that much it helps your anxiety. I am still the same person after my medicine but my panic and social anxiety is much better. Go for it. I take Eflexor.

I used to take paxil to cure my anxiety and it had physical side effects. I don't believe it changed my personality it just helped with the anxiety and fear for awhile. Once I learned to manage the anxiety and fear I was able to get off the drug completely.

That's one of the side effects the drug manufacturers try to avoid, but it's pretty much unavoidable. If you're trying to change something about you, can't help but change your personality to a point. It may even improve your life, if depression is pronounced.

I have read some litterature about panic attacks. But they allways seem to have a more scientific approach and that is nothing I need in my struggle to survive those horrible panic attacks. This is a "hand on" and very practical book. I felt it was written to me. I am sure that you are going to feel the same.
Joe Barry writes exactly how I think. The examples are perfectly described. And the method is genius. I recommend this book and thanks Joe Barry for writing it. It changes your life

I'm not a big fan of medication. I think its used as an excuse for people to not put effort into changing things about themselves that they dont like.
