I'm looking to buy the Slingbox AV. If I hook it up to my digital cable box, will one person be able to watch the TV that's hooked that box and another person watch the same TV through the remote connection simutainously?

That's exactly why I didn't purchase it. I was going to get it for myself for Christmas so that I could watch my shows while on the road from my Tivo, but I found out that you literally take control of the device. So if you are watching someting on your computer, whoever is in front of the device is watching the same thing.

Yes I have it and that's true.
I just use two different tuners, one for the Slingbox that I don't normally use, then my other in the family room.
I'm surprised how well it does work however. Also, only one person can remotely watch it at a time.
