Unless you are a roast and follow that religion why would you want locks .And if you were of that religion and be around people of the same faith .You would learn how to .

Well, I think they look awesome on certain people. I have a a friend who has them and they really suit him and they don't look dirty, or "gross", although I know what you mean when you say that. He has them done with beads (pale colors and wooden) and string weaves throughout on random strands, it makes it look a lot better compared to plain old dreads. I'd also suggest that when you wash your hair, to do it carefully to ensure the longevity of your locks! =P

I think dreads are coolest on red heads. If you haven't gotten them yet, go for smaller dread locks. When they're too big they often look bad. They tend to look bad at first anyway. They'll rock if you keep them from getting all tangley and frizzy. And don't think that you shouldn't wash your hair. That's gross. Wash it like you're washing sponges.

Well most of my family have clean and tidy locks. if you want to keep it this way i suggest you wash your hair regularly and use organics lock and twist gel its light weight and non greasy, for retwisting at home. Alternatively you can visit a hairdresser/loctician and they will sort you out nicely. I can recommend a few if you want......

A friend of mine did the right thing. She hacked them off to a skinhead and raised over £7,000 for charity and looked much better for it!

i think there is some kind of wax for dreadlocking
just don't brush your hair
also, once they are done, it looks really pro if you put a big bead on one of them
