First of all, good job, man; you've made the logical decision.
The reason why creationists don't like evolution is because it conflicts with a literal interpretation of the Bible. I guess theoretically you could have them both side-by-side, but then you run into all sorts of other problems -- namely, if certain parts of the Bible can't be taken literally, then how do you know what CAN be taken literally?
And you're right about the fact that no religion has any evidence to support it. That's the biggest problem for all atheists or skeptics out there. There's an estimate that there are over 10,000 religions in the world -- given the fact that none of them have any convincing proof, how are we supposed to know which is the right one?

I will forgo many things I have said in other similar talks on Evo and Christianity.
I will simply say that I have tested the Bible and the truths therein and am completely content with the creation story. But, if I get to Heaven and God says whoo boy I cannot believe you did not notice how long it took me to get that mud ball rolling!"
What I mean is this. I believe evolution and creation are a stumbling block for many and left so by design to see how you will deal with it whether you are Christian or one wanting to believe or even consider a God.
Personally, I believe when God created he did so with a faux age look. Adam looked to be an adult even though he was a new creation minutes old. etc... I know it sounds convenient, but there ya go!

Remember the Scientist Philosopher Albert Einstein who said 'Science with out Religion is lame; and Religion without Science is blind". Science is applied religion for the Hindus, that is why Hinduism is an eternal religion and more a way of living than believing.
You also go by your conviction and not what is written in the Bible about 3500 years ego and has not been edited since the days of Jesus. It requires up dating urgently, and any effort towards it will be opposed by the Pope at Rome, the Catholic head.

"Scientific" Creationism is a religion. It's adherents still claim to Christian, but their major tools are hatred and lies, so they are not Christians.as defined in the New Testament. They value page 1 of the Bible over Creation itself.
They alternately diabolize Darwin (that's how they love their neighbor) and then spread the false stories of his recantation.
They make up lies like saying the laws of thermodynamics disprove evolution, intentionally forgetting that life cannot exist in a closed system and that the Earth is not a closed system.
They claim "micro-evolution" happens, but not "macro-evolution", but propose no mechanism for it.

I grew up Catholic too and am a non-denominational Christian now. I think you are wrong to say no one has ever disproved evolution. The fact is evolution has yet to be proved. Micro-evolution is nothing more than adaptation or mutation within a species. These are the little changes we can see, such as a bacteria becoming resistant to antibiotics. No one has ever doubted that organisms are capable of this. So nothing new has been shown. Macro-evolution, the actual changing of a species to another has never been proved in any way.
I think it is good that you are questioning and seeking information. I hope it will lead you to Jesus our Savior. Good luck and God Bless.

Art, the only reason any of us believe anything is - to an extent - faith. There is nothing wrong with being Catholic, but if you feel that a scientific belief is better for you, more power to you. I do not know why people call Evolution false. I have heard of more than one person who balances both, and to an extent I do believe Evolution myself. I hope this helps.

Nobody has to "disprove" evolution. What those who want to teach it to our children as fact need to do is PROVE it..
We Christians only want it taught ONLY AS A THEORY until they do prove it. How hard can that be? If life came about as an accident, then surely we could create it completely from non-life on purpose. I'm waiting for them to do this, then I'll go along with their theory.

I am glad you are inspired by science.
I am a Christian, and do not have an answer for all questions.
Yes, it is a faith thing. Realize too there are Christian (or other) teachers, scientists, professors, researchers, judges, etc. etc.
Don't you think they'd give up their faith if science somehow cancelled it all out?

HI!
I will not tell you that you are being inspired by satan, as I do not believe in satan or hell. I personally do not put much stock in the bible as it is man-made and man interpreted.
I think (and of course this is ONLY my opinion) but there is a bit of evolution and creationism involved. But one will have you believe that only Their belief is the right one.
Believe what YOU feel is right in your own heart.

I have a test for you. Why? I am just curious to see if you are open minded.
Creationists believe in evolution. (They may not know it, that is they may not call it that name, but they do believe in it.
Proof:
"Every entity is in a state of flux; moving, reacting, adjusting, and changing. The amount of change is, of course, dependent on its ambient environment, outside stimuli, and its basic (foundational) characteristics."
The Scientists call this "evolution".
The Creationists call it (by) "intelligent design".
PS on BS: The Parrot is just that; a Parrot.
