I am so full of static that I am freaked out! I kissed my husband once and shocked him so bad he said his heart skipped a beat (I prefer to think I am just a good kisser!) I also get shocked so often that I often touch the back of my hand to door knobs or car door handles first to kinda "ground myself" and prevent a shock. Me and my son deliberately were shocking each other one day and when I touched the lamp to turn it on I blew a circuit in our house. I am not kidding. I actually asked a doctor if this is normal and he just stared at me like I was a lunatic. I don't drag my feet. I think some people just have stronger electro-magnetic fields than others.

As an electrician I'm full of humorous responses-such as," Well you don't have any shorts". Actually, it's a static charge buildup. Could be caused by the type of shoes you wear, or the surface you're walking on. Or maybe a hormone surge.

Happens much more in the winter when things are dry, and houses are closed up.

My wife and I have learned to touch hands before kissing in the winter. A shock on the lips is not pleasant.
