My family is pretty satisfied. We are both NCO's in the AF and together make pretty good money. A military member of lower rank and a spouse who does not work though, that is a huge difference. I was that provider before my wife came in the AF and it was not easy to make ends meet. Now that we have both been in a significant amount of time and achieved a decent paying rank it's not bad at all with all the extra pays we get like BAH, BAS.

I was lucky. I was single staff sergeant with no kids, so the very little money I got went far. I made almost as much in housing as I did in base pay when I was assigned in DC. They need to increase base pay for E-7 and below. Then again, people begin to rely on the free bennies like health care, etc. and it makes it more difficult to get out later.

I think that the lower ranks are underpaid, it's hard to live off of 1400/ month if you're married and have two car payments, insurance, phone bills, and all that. You get housing money and all, but it's still a struggle. I mean, we make it just fine, but we don't have any kids and I know of a Staff Sgt. with 7 kids, I don't know how they do it. Thank God they have free health care!

a brilliant number of it has to do with what each and each branch is uncovered to. i've got confidence media performs a huge place besides. Marines think of they are the terrific because of the fact they pass by using a complicated guidance on the same time as air rigidity think of they are the best because of the fact which you "could be clever" to get in (or so i've got heard) and it is going on with each and each branch. interior the top, i like being interior the army and does not commerce it for something.

Uk soilders have just been granted 3k when they return from iraq or afgan and get an extra £12-15 per day ...in reality that means an extra £300 per month in his wages .. not enough considering he spent double that to get extra kit and i send him over £150 per month and all his luxuries he cant get there.. personally i think they should get full tax relief and more than £300 per month .. but then that is our goverment penny grabbers through and through my hubby is still waiting to get his first two iraq medals years on

my husband is a sergeant and we support our family of 7 on one paycheck. we make enought to make ends meet, but not much left over for extras. we have to shop smart and sometimes we squeak by. i don't like the fact that they work early in the morning to late at night. i'm talking 4 am he's at work and not at home in the evening till after 8. you don't get paid overtime and that sucks.

the pay isnt even close to the amount of bs and all the other things we have to do every day that we are serving our country. We are drastically underpaid.
