How about Chibi? It kinda fits along with the dog breed, and usually it tends to mean small. It's more of a Japanese word, but it's kinda cute if you ask me.
Maybe Tink because that breed is small, like Tinkerbell.
Or possibly Faelie or some alternate spelling, since Chihuahuas are small like faeries/fairies :)
Good luck finding a name. I hope you find something you like.

Is this dog a surprise for your son? If so let him help pick out the name...it will make him feel he had a part in naming the dog. My chihuahua is a male and we named him Rusty.

It's actually Chihuahua, but who cares? My husband had a male and a female named Chico and Chiquita. My aunt has a male and female named Figaro and Josie and I used to have two females named Penny and Precious. Oh, and my Grandma has one named Paco. For some reason, mexican names seem to be a trend with these dogs (then again my husband is hispanic, so that could explain his dogs' names). Hope this helps!

Frankly I like opposing names for such a tiny dog like:
Spike
Rambo
Jaws
Cujo.....but those would be better suited to males.
For a female I might try:
Buttercup
Pixie
Tinkerbell
