ok my parents dont want me to have a cell phonee but i think i should;
1. im in gr.7, and im almost 13
2. i take 2 busses to and from school
3. i go to the mall alone with my friends
4. im responsible!!! i have a job
i tried saying that i should have one in case of emergencies like if i were being followed or one of my friends like... i dunno got hit by a car... but they still think i dont need one... i need a good debate!!!

wow! i had a good answer until i read all of your question (emergency, and pay the bill!)
well all i can say is ask again and really stress that you have been responsible in other areas and will pay for the phone and bill and you would even consider getting the prepaid phones like cingulars go-phone(so they don't have to worry about their credit scores b/c they don't check your credit! and if you go over your mins. your phone will just cut off until you pay for more!).
but seriously they are good for emergencies, true story there was a girl that got kidnapped and was able to call for help while in the trunk of their car!
if you are really a good kid (like don't sneak out, lie to you parents, etc.) you shouldn't mind getting the phones with the gpa tracking systems so they can monitor where you at and give them a peace of mind (this is what you would argue to them!)

You bascially anwered your own question honey - you've got a pretty good argument there! If you've tried this already and it hasn't worked, then save up and buy your own. You say you work, so why not spend the money you earn of something you really want, surely your parents can't stop you from spending your own money on something you really want. In the meantime show them how respnsible and mature you, they probably don't want to think your growing up too fast, annoying huh. Andie

You should tell them that if you do not have a cell phone when you go to the mall with your friends, there will be no way for them to get in touch with you if something happens

tell your parents, "i ride the bus and i go to the mall dont you think that it would be a good idea to have a cell phone so i can tell you where i am?" its kinda like a lesh like my parents call it and we are the puppies and they have control over where we go and everything it ould give you mor freedom but at the same time them more power

Tell them you want to be able to keep in touch with them, so that they will always no your wereabouts. Also let them know you may need to reach out and touch them and let them know you love them. The phone will do all that!! Good Luck.
