Coming from a teacher myself I got a really lovely gift of a gift certificate for Marks and Spencers. Perhaps for a male teacher you might want to get him a certificate for Next, The Tie Warehouse or a particular store that you might see him shopping in. Chocolates, wine/alcohol, candles and bath products all get exchanged in the staff room since we get tooo much of everything so something unique is always greatly appreciated.

I should spend the money on your daughter insted as it will make the child look like teachers pet if you but the teachers something and this is not the thing you want for your daughter. Children can be very funny when it comes to others and it is very easy for a child to get bullied if you are buying the teacher gifts as this is seen as special treatment. Just send a card like everyone else then there is no conflict of interests.

I found the COOLEST clock at Radio Shack. It is a small square, and it has four things that it does as you turn it on the various sides. Temperature, date and time, settable timer (eggtimer) and count down clock (AWSOME FOR times reading:)
I LOVE IT, and I am a teacher. I use it everday and it is the best darn girft I ever got! I think they are like 5 dollars.
A Gift card for Radio Shack is ALWAYS good for a male teacher. Gift cards for Half-Price Books are great too for all teachers:) You can almost guarantee the teacher will go get materials for the classroom:)
Have fun:)

I used to teach in a private school and the kids used to give me lots of lovely presents . Some of these presents were very expensive but honestly the ones I loved and appreciated most were usually made by the children themselves . However I know that as a parent you dont want to look mean and so as not to waste your money on something that might be inappropriate I would suggest either a book token or CD token or similar .That way it is sure to be put to good use . Happy Xmas

I don't think it is right for you to be buying gifts for teachers - but then I am very old - so probably don't understand how these thing work nowadays.
I'm just wondering why you DON'T want to get him what you KNOW he likes??
Sorry, once again, but all this is making no sense to me at all!
Maybe if you bought something for him and his partner to enjoy - a meal for two at a local restaurant... possibly?

Generally nothing. Children get teased for bringing in presents.
If you must, gift certificate to a chain bookstore.
For shock value, blow up doll or male 'stimulator' from Ann Summers.

Do you have to get him anything? Can your kids not make him something? All this present for teacher thing starts to become a real parent competition after a while...

Give him your daughter - he's going to get plenty of use out of it (at least that's what it says on the staff room toilet walls)
