I just opened a mail from the City of Boston. I was surprised and shocked to find an overdue ticket Violation in the amout of $60. The Reason: Double parking. I have never ever got a ticket in the location mentioned, and also never got the original ticket to pay. My girlfriend lives on the same street in downtown Boston, i usually pick her up by double parking the car, staying in it, and putting the flashers on like all other cars waiting to pick up some people. The whole thing does not usually take more than few minutes... It is really unfair! and now they are increasing the fine because they have not recieved the first payment. PLease help, what do i do? Do i appeal it? what do i say? Will they believe me if i say that i never got the original ticket?!

Can they issue a ticket violation without handing it to you?

Just pay it. Double parking is illegal no matter what, no matter how long you stayed and even if your flasher is on. If you think you're guilty of double parking, it's a waste of your time to even fight it (going to ticket hearing, etc). Just how valuable is your time? Is it worth $60? Certainly not. $60 is just $60. You'll find this again. But if you lost your time, can you go back and take this back? NO! So think this over. What is more important to you?

Sometimes, people pull tickets off of your car before you get there (it happened to me). I don't know if they do this as a joke or what. Anyway, I would suggest you take the ticket to court and explain that you admit you were double parked that you did not recieve the first violation and ask for the late penalty to be removed. The justice may believe you and lower the fine, it is worth a shot, if you can afford the time off from work.

Pay the ticket. You were double parking. It does not matter whether you put on flashers, waited in the car or put on flashers and waited in the car and wore snorkel gear.

I've received a ticket by the mail, too bad.
You double parked, excuses are getting childish.
Get over it, accept it like an adult and pay the fine.

Pay the ticket

Unfortunately the courts have heard your excuses with many different people everyday!! You admitted that you have double parked many times. You must have gotten caught one time.

Double parking is still illegal and shouldn't be done, no matter how many other people do it!

You mean to tell us that you want to go to spend time in court just to try and fight a 60 dollar fine? Worse, you may even end up losing.

Just pay the fine.
