I guess what I'm really trying to say is.. I need a good verbal kick-in-the-butt kind of motivational incentive or something to just get the rest of the decorations up and get the house finished before it gets any later. I feel as though I'm at a 'stall' and just can't seem to find a place to start,, I still have all the usual Christmas things to do like, baking, shopping, wrapping, but for some reason I feel as though I just don't have the Christmas Spirit right now. I know I will sometime before Christmas, but it's important to me to get caught up with all the preparations first, but just need some words of wisdom from all you highly-spirited A#1 organizers to tell me what I need to hear to just get started. Does anyone have the right words to say to get me 'mentally going' ???

I wish that I had some motivational words that I could use on myself. I meant to haul the fake Christmas tree out of the garage the day after Thanksgiving, but just finished lugging it upstairs just now. As I see it, I'm about almost 2 weeks behind.

It snowed heavily where I am so there aren't going to be any outdoor decorations this year (it's -5 with the wind chill). That gives me a couple of days back because it's now less that I have to do.

My wife tuned in to the Christmas song station, so she has the spirit. I'm considering it for tonight. Good luck.

Take it one step at a time. There is no one who says it has to be all done today, or even tomorrow.

I just finished today. I started with one thing a week ago. I put up my wreaths and garlands. The next day I finished the mantle, and put out some (but not all this year) of the family favorites. Sunday afternoon we did the tree. Today I finally figured out a centerpiece for the dining room table.

It will get done, and it will be lovely, whenever it gets done. It's just not much fun when it becomes a chore.

Yes sweetie,, I have just the right thing. You go to the store and buy you a bag of candy (variety), make sure both ends are sticking out,,,you know something to grab on to by both ends. Buy some thin ribbon,( it comes in red, white and green.) Cut the ribbon. Tie the candy together to make a necklace, or how we would say it, "A candy Lay". put the knecklace on,, Pour you a glass of wine, and listen to christmas music. Everything after that will fall in place, Have a great holiday sweetie.
